Mikael Rantalainen

Mikael Rantalainen is a Finnish landscape photographer. In 2005, he founded a photography business alongside his primary job, and since 2011, he has worked full-time in photography.
“I take on some commissioned work and sell images, but my main focus is on teaching,” Rantalainen explains.
He organizes courses and webinars on landscape and night photography, as well as photo editing. These courses range from beginner-friendly to highly challenging, offering something even for seasoned photographers. Courses are primarily held in Finnish, but inquiries about English-language photography tours and customized training are welcome.
With Rantalainen, participants get to explore the beautiful landscapes of Helsinki and its surroundings. He has a particular love for winter scenes, with mystical sea smoke, frost-covered trees, and unique ice formations being recurring themes in his work.
